AMMI — Returns & Exchange Policy
In accordance with Brazilian Consumer Protection Law (CDC — Law No. 8,078/1990)
INTRODUCTION
AMMI is committed to your satisfaction. This policy has been prepared in accordance with the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (CDC) and by completing a purchase in our store, the customer declares to have read and fully accepted the conditions described herein. All exchange and return requests must be communicated in advance by email to ammi@ammi.com.br — items sent back without prior notice will be automatically returned to sender.
1. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ACCEPTANCE
For any exchange or return to be processed, the item must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be in perfect condition, with no signs of wear or washing;
- Show no trace of perfume, body odour, or any fragrance indicating the item has been worn;
- Show no stains, marks, pet hair, lint, or any damage occurring after receipt;
- Have all original tags attached and intact;
- Be in its original packaging, with hygienic seals intact (swimwear);
- Not have been altered in any way by the customer (hemming, cuffs, darts, etc.);
- Be accompanied by the original invoice (DANFE) received with the order.
AMMI reserves the right to refuse items that do not meet these conditions. In such cases, the item will be returned to sender without prior notice, with return shipping costs borne exclusively by the customer.
Sale items are not eligible for exchange or return.
2. EXCHANGE FOR MANUFACTURING DEFECT
Under art. 26, section II of the CDC, the customer has the right to report visible defects within 30 (thirty) days of receipt for non-durable goods, and 90 (ninety) calendar days for durable goods.
To request an exchange, email ammi@ammi.com.br with the subject line "DEFECT EXCHANGE", including:
- Your order number;
- A detailed description of the defect;
- Photos clearly showing the issue.
Our team will assess the item within 30 (thirty) calendar days of receipt. If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, AMMI will cover all shipping costs.
AMMI is not liable for defects resulting from improper use, as determined by technical assessment. Made-to-order or exclusive pieces outside our regular collection are not eligible for exchange or return.
Note: slight colour variations between collections from different periods are inherent to our handmade production process and do not constitute a defect.
3. EXCHANGE DUE TO DISSATISFACTION (NO DEFECT)
Under art. 49 of the CDC, the customer may request an exchange within 7 (seven) calendar days of receiving the order.
To request, email ammi@ammi.com.br with the subject line "EXCHANGE REQUEST", including your order number and reason. Please wait for confirmation from our team before shipping the item back.
The item may be exchanged for any other product available on the website. Alternatively, the value may be converted into store credit, valid for 6 (six) months. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.
Swimwear: exchanges and returns require the complete set (top and bottom) to be returned together, even if only one piece is being exchanged.
We do not reserve products for pending exchanges.
4. ORDER CANCELLATION — RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
Under art. 49 of the CDC, customers who made a purchase outside a physical establishment (online) have the right to cancel within 7 (seven) calendar days of receipt, without the need for justification.
To exercise this right, email ammi@ammi.com.br with the subject line "ORDER CANCELLATION", including your order number. In this case, AMMI will refund the full amount paid, including the original shipping cost, within the timeframe set out below.
This right does not apply to purchases made in person at our premises in Porto Alegre.
5. REFUNDS
Refunds will be processed after inspection of the returned item, within 20 (twenty) calendar days, and may be issued in one of the following ways:
- Store credit, valid for 6 (six) months; or
- Refund to the original credit card used at the time of purchase, within 15 (fifteen) business days of completed inspection. Card issuers may take up to two subsequent billing cycles to process the credit.
We do not issue refunds to third-party bank accounts or to a card different from the one used in the original purchase.
6. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS
- Manufacturing defect: shipping covered by AMMI;
- Cancellation within the legal 7-day window: shipping covered by AMMI;
- Exchange due to dissatisfaction: return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
Each order must be returned separately with its corresponding postage code — returns from different orders cannot be combined into a single shipment.
7. FINAL PROVISIONS
Exchanges and returns for items purchased in the online store are processed exclusively via ammi@ammi.com.br or in person at our premises in Porto Alegre.
